Manager's Message

From the very foundation of the universe, God exhibited his yearning to have ‘light’ and hence he created it by his powerful utterance, “let there be light, and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3-Holy Bible) Light is the essence and character of God. He is light itself and the light constantly radiates on the entire universe. Since human beings are created in the image and likeness of God, they possess an intrinsic nature to be the light to one-self and to others. How do we spread the light of God? Whenever a person walks on the path of righteousness, fulfils one’s commitment with utmost dedication and sincerity, exhibits love for justice, peace, equality and unity, shares the joy and sorrow of fellow human beings, one spreads God’s light in the world. One needs to realize that the moment one forsakes the path of righteousness, he/she will be tempted to choose the path of darkness.

Darkness is the symbol of ignorance, distrust, trouble, perplexity, sorrow, etc.. On the contrary, light is the emblem of knowledge, hope, love, forgiveness, happiness, etc.. Education plays a vital role in assisting a person to identify the path of light and enables to lead a life filled with light. It dispels ignorance and illumines human hearts and minds. St. Joseph’s Convent School Kotdwar from its inception in 1973 has been instrumental in spreading the light of God through value based education and thus fostering development of the society. I am glad to state that this institution is a beacon of love, hope and aspirations to the people of Kotdwar. The Management of the School is indebted to all the learned and dedicated teaching staff, enthusiastic students, beloved parents, hardworking supporting staff and well-wishers for their constant support and co-operation in achieving its goal. I conclude my words with a prayer from the Holy Bible, “Lord, send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your dwelling.”
