Intellectually Competent:

One who is mastered those academic subejcts required for the respective public examination, skills of language, critical thinking, power of expression both oral and written, gradually leading on to greater precision, personal style. curiosity to explore ideas, initiative and creativity.

Morally sound:

Developing moral attitude and principles as he/ she grows towards moral maturity, assimilating especially the values stressed in the preamble of the constitution of India. Spiritually oriented:

One who is aware of God's presence and action in creation, in human history and in his own personal history; has experienced moments of God's love in his/ her personal life; has appropriate knowledge of the basic doctrines of his/her faith; has had some exposure of other religious traditions than his/ her own; understands the significance of the main religious festivals in the country.

Christian students in particular:

Has to read the Holy Bible and encounter the person of Christ as he is presented in the New Testament. He must have the basic understanding of the Church's teaching about Jesus and His redeeming mission. With a view of preserving our Catholic faith, classes in religion will be conducted and it will be obligatory for Catholic children to attend these classes.

Loving

One who is learning to accept oneself with strength and weakness. Communicates more easily with others. Feels at ease with person of the opposite sex. Has begun to appreciate deeper personal friendships but has also learned that not all relationships are profound and long lasting. Through service of others one finds his or her life enriched.

Committed to doing justice

Consciously seeks to be more respectful, understanding, accepting and generous with others against the attitude and tendencies, that leads to injustice. Sees that religious faith implies a commitment to a just society. Has been exposed to the needs of the poor in the school and has developed compassion of them. Is aware of the need to help and support those who suffer injustice e.g. women, the poor, the bonded labourers, the handicapped, the refugees and the unemployed. begins to understand the structural roots of injustice in social institutions, attitudes and customs.

Open to Growth

One who is willing to pursue one's own growth because, he/she, wants to be a better person emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, morally and religiously, is beginning to take responsibility for his/ her own growth and is learning to accept self with his/ her talents and limitations; is aware of feelings and emotions and is beginning to be authentic in expressing them.

Admission

St.Joseph's Convent School being a Christian Minority Institution, aims primarily at the education of the Catholic Community and the preservation of Catholic religious practices. Preference in admission to the School will be given to Catholic children. Admission will, however, be open to children of other communities without distinction of caste or creed, but on merit.

* The principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate without furnishing reasons.
* Candidates for admission should be introduced by their parents or proper guardians who shall remain responsible for their fees, regular attendance and good conduct.
*Those seeking admission to St.Joseph's Convent School, Kotdwar will have to apepar for the entrance test and interview. They must come with:
* A school leaving certificate if they come from a recognised school. The Transfer Certificate of a student who had his/ her Schooling outside Distt. Pauri-Garhwal must get his/ her T.C. counter - signed by the education officer of the district in which the previous school is situated.
* A certified copy of the marks obtained in the last examination.
